December 2018 Update for the Council of Kindness Project

 In News

A temporary home:

Susan Schneider, the manager of Nederland’s Citywide Bank, has offered the large, unused space on the second floor of the bank as a place to assemble the bench, animals and overhead birds. I will be assembling some young people to help me move the components up there in January. We will put them together hopefully with our videographer, Hannah Tran, filming its assembly.

Then I will schedule a small reception of those on this list, so you can be among the first to see it together. Even I have not seen it altogether yet!

I expect to keep it up there for a few months.

Fundraising:

Yesterday I received approval from Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA) for fiscal sponsorship. This means that one can get a tax deduction for donating to the Council of Kindness. This can now be done by mailing a check made out to Boulder County Arts Alliance, put “Council of Kindness” on the memo line.  Send it to:

Boulder County Arts Alliance
Attn: Fiscal Sponsor for the Council of Kindness
Dairy Arts Center
2590 Walnut St #9
Boulder CO 80302

Or you can go to this page on their website, https://www.bouldercountyarts.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=7&benefit=890

This is an artist focused site which allows you to contribute to me. As with all these options, the money, minus a 5% administration fee for BCAA, goes completely to the Council of Kindness project.

In a week or so we will have a donate button on our Council of Kindness website,
https://www.councilofkindness.org/ that will also allow online contributions, also through the BCAA.

All donations made in this manner are tax deductible. I am personally not taking any of these funds. They will all go towards the project’s material costs as well as future costs for placing the bench and animals.

I promise some cool photos with the next update.

Happy Holidays!

Scott
